Per il secondo ciclo della scuola primaria.
Assumed level: After 180 hours.
Important language areas: Simple Past, Present Simple, 'Give that/them back, Jack' used repeatedly, vocabulary for animals in the zoo.
This book uses humour to show children that you should not take things that are not yours. It sets the scene for Jack, a notorious 'taker' of things from birth, to get his comeuppance. He goes on a school trip to the zoo and seems to get away with taking a lot of things that are not his from several animals. Each time we see or read the refrain 'Give that/them back, Jack' the children can join in with the story. Finally, Jack gets eaten by Mac the python. We see Jack's outline inside the python and the refrain at this stage becomes 'Give Jack back, Mac!'
This would nicely take a class into discussion about taking things that you should not take.
