This is a truly fascinating book written in a simple form with technical words illustrated in the photographs that support the text clearly on each page. It starts with big lumps of wax and follows the process in the crayon-making factory until the small packet of coloured crayons are finally made, ready for children to use. The photographs are of a real factory and real people working there so each photograph could lead to lots of discussions, descriptions, and question and answer sessions within the English class. There are some unusual words in the text but these are well supported by illustrations so the meaning is made clear to the reader/viewer. At the very end of the book there are some pictures that children have drawn of each other using crayons.
